Ramadhan day 8
RAMADHAN DAY 08
It's Ramadhan, and you have all those extra money (or moolah, as I'd say it) in your wallet, or money box or in the bank... so what do you do with it? Do you say "Extra money is all miiiine! I can now purchase a PSP!" or do you say "I think I'll give this extra money to the orphanage nearby"?
If you answer the latter; congratulations, you are on the right path to be a righteous and generous Muslim! ♥ ♥
“Allah will deprive usury of all blessing, but will give increase for deeds of charity: for He loves not creatures ungrateful and sinner.” ( 2: 276)
"Charity does not in any way decrease the wealth and the servant who forgives, Allah adds to his respect; and the one who shows humility, Allah elevates him in the estimation (of the people).” (Muslim)
In Islam, sadaqah/infaq/charity is HIGHLY noble and is always emphasized on, especially if you are granted with more wealth and more moolah from others. It helps the needy, the poor, the orphans, etc AND it increases your level of deen!
So to speak, if you are given much wealth, you are lucky because you are able to help the less fortunate :)
Surely Allah loves who gives part of his/her wealth to others! ♥
Giving sadaqah in Ramadhan is a BIG advantage. Prophet Muhammad s.a.w is EXTREMELY generous when it comes to giving sadaqa in Ramadhan. Imam Bukhari narrated that the Prophet was like "more generous than the wind that brings rain." See how beautiful is that? ♥
So use this golden opportunity and give, give, give! In fact, giving sadaqah is more blessed (and more rewards given) than in Syawal/Aidilfitri, so start practicing being generous! :) And remember, sadaqah must be done ALL THE TIME, but Ramadhan is special because you are encouraged to give more! :)
And also remember that sadaqah is BEST when done as humble as possible. Avoid riak (show-off attitude) and door-sized cheques. And sadaqah/infaq is not only in the form of money, but also in the form of food, clothes or other basic necessities.
Some suggestions that might be helpful- Give sadaqah to:
- Your parents and grandparents! :D ♥
- Your siblings and little cousins
- Orphans
- The needy such as old folks, the poor, etc
- The Palestinians, or others in distress
“The best charity is that given in Ramadhan.”[At-Tirmithi]
Let's all be better Muslims, amin. ♥
